The Bryant Hills Group brings together several diverse, but interrelated enterprises and several associates, assistants and colleagues, all sharing a common business strategy — to succeed by using good management and better technology to help your group or business grow.
Our Managing Director is Louis J. Bruno, whose interests and skill sets form the backbone of the Bryant Hills Group.
Lou’s first career was in the Graduate Faculties at Columbia University, teaching and doing research in psychology, which helped him “understand what makes people tick.” At Columbia, as co-director of an innovative research and training laboratory, for which he obtained NIMH funding, Lou designed a wrist-radio transmitter for covert muscle movements, and used computers from home-brew to IBM 360s for programming, simulation, data acquisition and analysis.
Lou’s second career — in retail management — was directing district operations for Radio Shack, Savemart, and then Newmark & Lewis. It was as a retailer that he developed his “deep concern for his clients’ needs.” With P&L responsibility for multimillion dollar operational districts stretching from Toms River, NJ to Dedham, MA, he also learned management, marketing, real estate, personnel (hiring, training, evaluating), trucking, warehousing, and of course, salesmanship.
Lou’s third and current career — the Bryant Hills Group — was founded to “help small businesses grow through applied technology, management and real estate know-how.” Drawing on his knowledge of electronics and computers, he provides management consulting; computer system design, installation, maintenance and repair; database and marketing services for the tax certiorari industry; and internet marketing, including website development, promotion and maintenance.
Lou and his wife, Judith, live in White Plains, where he is the President of their 400+ unit co-op, a past President and Board member of the White Plains Council of Neighborhood Associations (WPCNA), and serves on the Mayor’s Committees for Sustainability, Earth Week and Haiti Relief. Some of Lou’s initiatives include an energy fair, an organic community vegetable garden with individual plots for 40 gardeners, and a sustainability forum and expo.
Leia Clark, our Director of Internet Development, joined the Bryant Hills Group in 2002 and quickly become indispensable, handling everything from data entry to Flash animation, to overall design and deployment.
In 1999 Leia was working as the Office Manager for a European start-up while studying Computer Network Technology (CNT) at Herzing College. When she realized the start-up was paying over $5000 a week for web development, she quickly added that to her curriculum and soon had designed her first website.
Leia moved on to study Management and Information Systems (MIS) at Kent State University, while continuing to study and develop websites on her own.
With training in CNT, MIS and website development and over seven years experience in executive administration, Leia quickly became an important part of our website development team.
Today, Leia continues to contribute to Bryant Hills, both in production and in consultation, while running her own internet marketing business.
The Bryant Hills Group LLC is the successor to Louis J. Bruno, Inc., which did business as Installations Plus+, servenet.com, the Webshop@servenet.com, Auctions by Ted McBain and Retail Management Services.
